Project goals
Defining the Non-response to Topical Corticosteroids in Atopic Dermatitis
Project description
- Topical corticosteroids (TCS) are first-line therapy in AD, widely used across all severities of the disease.
- Despite their central role, no standardized definition exists for treatment non-response to TCS.
- This lack of clarity affects both clinical practice and clinical trial design.
- The initiative aims to define consensus-based, clinically meaningful non-response criteria for TCS use in AD.
Status
- Literature Review – PubMed search identifying 403 relevant publications
- Expert Panel – 118 ADCARE-certified dermatologists and allergists invited to participate.
- Consensus Statement – presentation + round of eDelphi voting Agreement ≥70% defined (current progress)
- Final Statements – Formal expert opinion on non-response definitions to TCS in AD
