MAST²CARE – We provide excellence in mastocytosis management
The MAST²CARE programme is an initiative of the Global Allergy & Asthma Excellence Network aimed at advancing knowledge of mastocytosis through research, raising awareness, and accrediting an interactive network of centers of reference and excellence in mastocytosis.
Who We Are
The MAST²CARE program is an initiative of the Global Allergy and Asthma Excellence Network, to develop and accredit an interactive network of centers of reference and excellence in mastocytosis. Mastocytosis is a rare disease in which mast cells accumulate in various tissues of the body. It affects about 1 in 5,000 people and is very debilitating.
Since its inception in 2024, the MAST²CARE network has strived to fill a gap by promoting innovation and evidence-based practice through research and publications. We aim to raise awareness of mastocytosis among physicians, the pharmaceutical industry and patients. To support this, we are building a global network and strengthening professional relationships to disseminate state-of-the-art expert care in the management of mastocytosis.
What We Do
The MAST²CARE network provides the MASTHAVE App, a patient app dedicated to the documentation of real-world data on mastocytosis. The network also conducts joint projects and studies and complements conferences and meetings such as the Global Urticaria Forum and the UCARE conference. We also inform and educate healthcare professionals and patients about mastocytosis through our websites and social media channels. We foster collaboration and cooperation among other existing and complementary networks.
Through the MAST²CARE network, we aim to:
- Advance knowledge and understanding of mastocytosis through research, education and training
- Raise global awareness and recognition of mastocytosis among healthcare professionals, policymakers, and the public
- Promote equitable access to established and emerging therapies for mastocytosis
- Facilitate international collaboration and expertise-sharing between committed institutions
- Support the development of diagnostic and therapeutic pathways tailored to local healthcare realities
- Recognize and connect centers committed to excellence, collaboration, and outreach
Our Mission
The MAST²CARE programme is a global initiative to improve diagnosis and care for people living with mastocytosis—especially in countries where access to specialized expertise and modern treatment options is still limited.
Our mission is to support the development and implementation of sustainable diagnostic and treatment structures through collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and advocacy. While the programme includes the recognition of dedicated centers, its primary focus lies in empowering healthcare systems and professionals to deliver appropriate, high-quality care across diverse regions.

Our Vission
Our vision is to improve the quality of life for all patients affected by mastocytosis worldwide through excellent medical care and research that advances our understanding of mastocytosis and its treatment. We also want to increase awareness of the disease, its symptoms, comorbidities, burden, diagnostic workup and treatment options, thereby empowering both patients and physicians to take control of all aspects of mastocytosis.
